Paavo Tynell: Church Lamp
This monumental brass chandelier by Paavo Tynell was commissioned for the historic Keski-Lahti "Wood Church", where it was designed to complement the classical baroque-style interior. With grand proportions and intricate detailing, this exceptional piece captures both old-world elegance and Tynell’s signature craftsmanship.
The chandelier features a central perforated and polished brass sphere and body, from which extend twenty gracefully curved arms in two tiers, each supporting candle-like lights topped with delicate brass flower lighting fixtures. These reflective elements enhance the warm glow, creating a captivating play of light and shadow.
With its considerable size and weight, this statement piece is best suited for spacious interiors such as a grand foyer, a high-ceilinged room, or a luxury hotel lobby. Though inspired by baroque glamour, Tynell’s lamp's unique ability lies in the chandelier’s ability to blend seamlessly into both classic and modern lighting solutions, making it a rare and versatile collector’s item.
