Sievä Baroque Style Adjustable Brass Floor Lamp, Finland, 1970s

A beautiful Finnish Baroque style floor lamp by Sievä from the 1970s, crafted in dark patinated and lacquered brass with a warm parchment shade. The slender stem is balanced by an ornate base featuring scrolling feet around a central sphere, while sculptural details along the column lend the lamp an elegant, traditional character.

The height is adjustable using a decorative locking screw, allowing the shade to be positioned to suit its setting. Fitted with two bulb holders, the lamp provides a soft, atmospheric light through the parchment, whose warm tone complements the dark brass beautifully. An inviting addition beside an armchair or sofa, or in a bedroom or library.

Sievä’s Finnish lighting combines practical functionality with decorative forms and warm materials. This example expresses that balance through its adjustable construction, restrained proportions, and richly detailed base.

The lamp remains in good vintage condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use, and is stamped “Sievä” underneath the base. The parchment shade has a fine split that remains largely closed and is difficult to notice unless gentle pressure is applied to the shade. Please refer to the detailed photographs.
