Swedish Grace Table Lamp by C. G Hallberg, Silver & Stained Wood, Sweden 1928

A Swedish Grace silver table lamp by C. G. Hallberg, dated 1928. Measuring 66 cm in height including the shade, the lamp features a slender cylindrical stem rising from a circular base, with an urn-shaped decorative element at its foot. Scrolled handles, vertical beaded ornamentation and engraved details introduce classical references characteristic of Swedish design of the period.

The silver retains its unpolished surface, with pronounced tarnishing and tonal variations throughout. A black wonder lower rim frames the circular base, while the black pleated shade provides a contrast to the silver.

The lamp bears the C. G. Hallberg maker’s mark alongside Swedish silver hallmarks, including the date mark for 1928.

C. G. Hallberg was founded in Stockholm in 1860 by goldsmith Carl Gustaf Hallberg. It was one of the Swedish court Silversmiths and the largest firm in Sweden.
