Mid-Century Table Lamp Model EV 70, Perforated Brass & Black, Itsu Finland 1950s

7060,00 €

A beautiful Itsu model EV 70 adjustable table lamp, combining a slender black metal structure with a perforated brass reflector. The angular, open base gives the lamp a distinctive sculptural presence, while the richly patinated brass brings warmth and character to its functional design. When illuminated, the small perforations create delicate points of light across the reflector.

The lamp is adjustable in height and angle, and the reflector can be directed independently, allowing the light to be positioned as needed. A hanging loop at the end of the stem also allows it to be mounted on the wall as a sconce. This versatility makes it well suited to a desk, bedside table, or reading corner, where its practical construction and striking silhouette can be equally appreciated.

The lamp retains its beautiful original finish, with a stunning patina on the brass and wear consistent with age and use. There is a small knock with slight unevenness along one side of the reflector’s edge; please refer to the photographs. The wiring has been updated. Stamped “Itsu.”

Itsu was one of the leading light manufacturing companies and a daughter company of Idman. It made high quality lamps and produced lamps for major projects, including some of Alvar Aalto’s projects like the Aalto University.
