Alvar Aalto Hallway Armchair Model 403 in Birch & Orange, Artek 2008

A beautiful Alvar Aalto model 403 hallway chair, originally designed for the legendary Paimio Sanatorium, one of the masterpieces of 20th-century architecture. This example was manufactured by Artek in 2008.

The chair perfectly embodies Aalto’s philosophy of combining beauty, function, and human comfort. Constructed from solid birch with a single gracefully bent birch plywood seat and backrest, it is remarkably lightweight despite its robust construction.

Finished in a vibrant orange colour, the chair brings warmth and energy to an interior while maintaining the clean, understated lines that define Scandinavian Modernism.
