A beautiful and delicate Art Deco ceiling lamp, model 313/4, designed by Antti Hakkarainen in the 1930s. The model appears in the 1935 catalogue and showcases Hakkarainen’s refined sense of proportion and lightness.
The lamp features a patinated brass body with four stylized leaf-like motifs at the center, from which four elegant curved arms extend outward, each holding a blown glass shade in beautiful beige colour. The combination of the restrained geometry and the warm toned shades gives the piece a quiet, poetic presence. The already patinated brass has gathered a gorgeous almost 100 year old patina that adds a lot of charm to the fixture.
A timeless example of Finnish Art Deco, and a wonderful representation of Hakkarainen’s delicate design language.
One of the leaf like decorations is welded in place. An old fix from decades ag0.
