Finnish Mid-Century Modern Design Door Pull in Full Brass, 1950s

A rare solid brass door pull manufactured in Finland during the 1950s, originally from the old Vanha Mestari restaurant in Helsinki. Beautifully proportioned and made entirely from heavy solid brass, the pull embodies the honest functionality and understated elegance that defined Scandinavian commercial interiors of the mid-century period.

The pull features three tubular brass bars securely mounted to thick brass backplates, creating a sculptural architectural form that is equally suited for use on a large entrance door, wine cellar, restaurant, or as a striking decorative object. Decades of use have given the brass a rich, naturally aged patina that speaks to its history while enhancing its character even though it has been partially polished at one point.

Originally serving one of Helsinki’s restaurants, this piece carries both functional and historical appeal. Whether left with its beautiful patina or fully polished to a bright finish, it offers a timeless expression of Finnish mid-century craftsmanship.
