A large Finnish forged wrought iron lamp with beautiful betails. The lamp measures 75cm in diameter with the shades, and features 8 lights protruding from a central ring with an intricate mesh design. The lamp is painted in black and has most probably later “candle like covers” for the electric parts holding the lights as they usually were made from cardboard around that period. The shades seem to be original and made of pergament.
It is difficult to attribute the lamp to a specific designer or manufacturer, but could be Paavo Tynell or Antti Hakkarainen. On all accounts, it is the product of a masterful designer and superior craftsmanship. Although more on the arts and craft and classical style, the lamp works well with modern interiors.
