“Marble” Art Glass Lamp, Kerttu Nurminen, Kerlux – Nuutajärvi, Finland, 1980s

1440,00

An art glass table lamp from the Marmori “Marble” series by Finnish glass designer Kerttu Nurminen for Nuutajärvi and Kerlux, model 989 01811. The mould-blown body combines white and grey glass in a beautifully marbled pattern, paired with an aluminium neck and a later fabric shade that complements the piece effortlessly. Its soft, stone-like presence makes it a natural fit for marble-rich interiors and eclectic spaces, yet it also sits comfortably in minimalist environments where it brings a quiet, decorative character alongside warm, functional light.

The lamp retains both its Nuutajärvi and Kerlux labels, with the model number to the base, and is in good condition.

Kerttu Nurminen (b. 1943) is one of Finland’s notable post-war glass designers, known for her refined sense of form, nuanced use of colour and ability to create pieces that balance softness with sculptural clarity. She worked for Nuutajärvi Glassworks from the 1960s onward, producing both utilitarian and art glass that has become highly collectible. Her work often explores layered tones and organic shapes, qualities clearly present in the Marmori series and embodied beautifully in this lamp.
