A Mid-Century Modern TV or stereo stand by Carl-Gustaf “Nalle” Hiort af Ornäs, crafted in teak and black-stained birch. This elegant and functional piece embodies the clean lines and refined simplicity characteristic of Scandinavian design. The construction features a minimalist shelf unit that also serves as the leg structure, topped with a removable surface that functions as the main stand — a clever combination of practicality and understated beauty.
The stand remains in good vintage condition, showing light expected wear consistent with age and use.
Carl-Gustaf “Nalle” Hiort af Ornäs (1911–1996) was a Finnish interior architect and designer, best known for his Siesta armchair introduced in 1952. In 1945, he founded Puunveisto Oy, where he developed advanced techniques for shaping and finishing plywood. In his later years, Hiort af Ornäs lived in Spain, where he designed several buildings in the Los Pacos district of Fuengirola, a community popular among Finns.
