Paavo Tynell Organic Wall Lamps Model 9424 in Brass and Rattan, Taito 1940s

50400,00

A rare and elegant pair of Paavo Tynell wall lamps model 9424 by Taito Oy. These wall lamps have a beautiful organic design mimicking branches with crystals, possibly pertaining frozen icicles. The rattan / wooden slatted shades are made according to the original measurements.

Separately each lamp is asymmetrical, yet a beautiful symmetry is achieved by the pair when placed together. This feature makes them perfect to be placed on both sides of large paintings or other focal points in important rooms.

Both lamps retain all original parts except for the shades that are redone as mentioned. One of the lamps is stamped Taito. Please note the measurements are for one lamp and the overall measurement depends on how far from each other they are. The lamps have been restored, polished and lacquered and the wiring updated to current standards.

We especially appreciate Paavo Tynells 1940s lamps since they are more rare and made during very tough economical times for Finland and the rest of Europe considering WW2 drained raw materials. These are a beautiful example from the period.
