Pair of Finnish Design Curved Lounge Chairs, Carl Johan Boman Circa 1940s

6960,00

A charming pair of lounge chairs manufactured in Finland during the 1940s and most likely by Carl-Johan Boman. The chairs feature a distinctive barrel-shaped silhouette with elegantly curved backs, deep seats, and softly rounded proportions that exemplify the refined comfort and craftsmanship of Finnish furniture from the period.

The chairs retain their floral upholstery, believed to date from the 1990s. While still usable, the fabric is showing its age and no longer reflects the quality of the underlying design. For this reason, we recommend a complete reupholstery and restoration. We are able to provide this service in-house and can offer a wide selection of fabrics, including sheepskin, wool, linen, or other materials according to the buyer’s preferences.

Once restored, the chairs would make exceptional accent seating in living rooms, bedrooms, libraries, hotel interiors, or reception spaces, combining comfort with the understated elegance of Nordic design.

These chairs originate from the same suite as a matching curved sofa, which is available separately. Together, they form a rare and inviting seating group that captures the warmth and sophistication of Finnish design from the 1940s.
