Pair Of Ilmari Lappalainen Laila Arm Chairs 238 in Maple Sheepskin, Asko 1940s

22080,00

A pair of elegant armchairs designed by Ilmari Lappalainen and manufactured by Asko Oy in Finland in the 1940s. The chairs are reupholstered with natural sheepskin in the beautiful maple colour against the dark stained birch legs.

These chairs are somehow larger than the usual Laila chairs we come across and seem a bit more curvy. The chairs are extremely comfortable to sit in. Suitable for living rooms, reading rooms, bedrooms or entrances. Apart from the renewed upholstery the chair bodies are in original and good condition.

Ilmari Lappalainen was one of the main designers in Asko since the 1940s and has numerous furniture designs. As for Asko, it was the leading furniture manufacturer in Finland and one of the biggest furniture manufacturers in Europe during the mid-century years.
