A pair of classic cut cystal and brass wall lamps by Finnish designer Mauri Almari, model K8-14. Manufactured by Idman in the 1950s, the lamps are in their original condition and are both stamped by Idman.
The style is quite classic yet will suit well with modern interiors as it will naturally suit more classic and eclectic ones. The lamps are fitted with plug in cords but can easily be hardwired also.
Perfect for ambience and soft atmospheric lighting. Ideal for entrances, framing wall artworks, living spaces or bed rooms.
Mauri Almari (1907–1973) was a prominent Finnish lighting designer at Idman, working alongside Paavo Tynell, Gunnel Nyman and Maria Lindeman. After the acquisition of Taito, he — together with Lindeman — became the main lead for the design output of the factory, resulting in numerous important lamp models and an unmistakable visual identity within Finnish mid-century lighting design.
