Rare Aino Aalto, Solid Pine Cabinet with Drawers for Artek, 1940s

This cabinet is extremely rare and is most definitely sought after by Aalto collectors. With the original stamp, Aalto Design, Artek, this piece is from the 1940s. Although the Aalto’s used mainly birch in their furnitures, this cabinet is made from pine. It features 6 spacy drawers and two shelves on the other side. The large knobs of the cabinet add character to the item.

Aino Aalto (1894–1949) was a trailblazing Finnish architect and designer whose work left an indelible mark on modernist design.
