46560,00 €

A commissioned ceiling lamp designed by Paavo Tynell and made to order by Taito, dating from the early 1950s. The piece features 55cm opaline white glass shade held by an organic hexagon shaped perforated brass sheet and a spring decorated brass pin.

The lamp has all its original brass parts that have been polished leaving the inside metal parts with their original paint and patina. The glass is of a later date. The electrical wirings have been updated to modern standards.

This piece was part of an interior that had all lamps that were designed by Tynell. At the moment we have a similar one like this in case you are looking for a pair.

Paavo Tynell (1890–1973) was one of Finland’s most influential lighting designers, celebrated for his refined use of brass and his ability to combine functionality with poetic form. A co-founder of Taito Oy in 1918, he played a key role in shaping Finnish lighting design as electricity became widespread. His work gained international recognition in the postwar years, particularly in the United States, and today his rare and commissioned pieces are highly sought after by collectors worldwide
