Retro Sculptural Natural White Framed Mirror, Mäkisen Kuvastin, Finland 1971

1920,00

A sculptural Finnish wall mirror produced by Mäkisen Kuvastin in 1971. The mirror features a distinctive wooden frame finished in an off-white or natural white tone and decorated with a rhythmic sequence of half-circle elements running vertically along the sides and horizontally across the top and bottom. The repeating geometric motif creates a subtle play of light and shadow and gives the piece a strong graphic identity while maintaining a restrained Nordic character.

The composition reflects the design language of the early 1970s, when simple geometric forms and soft sculptural details were often combined with light natural finishes. The half-circle relief elements introduce depth and texture to the otherwise minimal rectangular frame, giving the mirror a decorative quality while remaining architecturally balanced.

Mäkisen Kuvastin was a Finnish manufacturer known for producing mirrors and interior elements during the mid-20th century, often incorporating distinctive carved or molded wooden frames typical of the period. The mirror can be used leaning against a wall as a floor mirror or mounted vertically. Its neutral tone and graphic frame make it suitable for a variety of interiors ranging from Scandinavian modern and post-modern inspired spaces to contemporary minimalist settings. Produced in Finland, in 1971. The mirror remains in good vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear consistent with use.
