A rare and early brass table lamp designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape and manufactured by Orno in Finland in the 1940s. The lamp features an adjustable three leaf or feather-like decorative parts in cast brass on a gooved brass stem. The wooden slat shade is of a later date and suits the lamp exceptionally well. Apart from the shade and the updated wirings, the lamp retains all it’s original parts. The brass was polished. A truly beautiful lamp suitable for any room or interior.
Lisa Johansson-Papé (1907-1989) was a Finnish designer best known for her works in lighting. She paid more attention to the function of the lamp firstly, then the design feature secondly. Lisa designed furniture for Stockmann for a number of years, after which she turned her attention to lamps, also at the Stockmann owned company Orno Oy. She won a number of medals for her lighting designs in the Milan Triennials in the 1950s.
