Set of Four Vintage White Flush Mounts with Metal Cage Protectors, Finland 1960s

A rare set of four Finnish industrial flush mount ceiling lights, manufactured by Sähköliikkeiden Oy in the mid-20th century. Originally installed in a youth center in Kiiminki, Finland, these fixtures were designed for demanding public environments where durability was as important as aesthetics.

Each lamp features a substantial white opaline glass diffuser enclosed within a white-painted steel protective cage. Originally intended to shield the glass from impacts in active spaces such as schools, sports halls, youth centers, and recreational facilities, the cage transforms a purely functional solution into a striking design element. The graphic wire construction lends the lamps an architectural, almost Bauhaus-inspired character while remaining distinctly Nordic in their restrained simplicity.

The generous opaline glass provides a soft, even illumination, making these fixtures equally suitable for contemporary interiors. Their low-profile design makes them ideal for rooms with lower ceilings, hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, offices, utility spaces, or commercial interiors where understated yet characterful lighting is desired.

The lamps remain in their original condition, showing only minor wear and paint loss consistent with age and use with some rust spots in these places, only adding to the charm. Stamped with the manufacturer’s stamp Sähköliikkeiden Oy together with the original model number.

An excellent example of Scandinavian industrial design, where necessity and function naturally evolve into timeless beauty.
