Werner West (1890-1959) was a Finnish designer who has been said to have created the foundation for Finnish industrial furniture design. In his time, he was the instructor and mentor of many young Finnish designers. West also participated in the founding of the Union of Finnish Decorative Artists Ornamo in 1911. His designs can be found in numerous interiors of Finnish public buildings such as hotels, restaurants and banks.
