A mid-century modern floral wall lamp model EY 35 by Itsu from the 1950s. The lamp features a round base with a branch like arm and three perforated brass leaves nesting a white opaline glass shade mimicing a flower as the source of light. A beautiful design inspired by the iconic Paavo Tynell floral lamps from the same era. The lamp is in good condition, with the wiring changed for modern standards. The lamp has an outside plug in wire that pretrudes from the upper side of the wall bracket, but as most probably the lamp will be hard wired, this will not show. The lamp is stamped “Itsu”.
Itsu was one of the leading lamp manufacturers in Finland during the middle of the 20th century. Along with companies like Taito Oy, Idman and Orno they defined what Finnish design lamps would become.
