A beautiful and delicate Lisa Johansson-Pape ceiling pendant with hand painted mouth blown glass shades. and spring decorations. The three arm pendant is made of brass and white metal bases for the shades. The lamp shades are mouth blown and have hand painted star shaped motifs, some of which have slightly faded with age (please refer to pics).
The pendant is an absolute beauty in a good condition with the brass polished. It represents the early era of Lisa Johansson-Pape’s designs from the late 1940s and early 1950s.
Lisa Johansson-Pape (1907-1989) was a Finnish designer best known for her works in lightings. She paid more attention to the function of the lamp firstly, then the design feature secondly. Lisa designed furniture for Stockmann for a number of years, after which she turned her attention to lamps, also at the Stockmann owned company Orno Oy. She won a number of medals for her lighting designs in the Milan Triennials in the 1950s.
