A stunning and early Lisa Johansson-Pape rare ceiling pendant with a salmon beige opaline glass shade and delicate brass-glass flowers. A sculptural beauty with the decorative flowers in the middle seemingly splashing like a fountain from the glass reflector. The pendant is from the 1940s, an era when Lisa Johansson-Papé used more sculptural and decorative elements in her designs.
The lamp is in good original condition, unpolished and retains the original lacqeur. The lamp is stamped Orno.
Lisa Johansson-Pape (1907-1989) was a Finnish designer best known for her works in lightings. She paid more attention to the function of the lamp firstly, then the design feature secondly. Lisa designed furniture for Stockmann for a number of years, after which she turned her attention to lamps, also at the Stockmann owned company Orno Oy. She won a number of medals for her lighting designs in the Milan Triennials in the 1950s.
