Lisa Johansson-Papé Flush Mount, Hand-Painted Glass with Flowers, Orno 1950s

A beautiful ceiling pendant with hand painted on flower decorations, designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape and manufactured by Orno Oy in Finland in the 1950s. The lamp is in it’s full original condition down to the wirings. The glass shade is also original and has stunning hand painted flower decorations. Lisa Johansson-Pape (1907-1989) was a Finnish designer best known for her works in lightings. She paid more attention to the function of the lamp firstly, then the design feature secondly. Lisa designed furniture for Stockmann for a number of years, after which she turned her attention to lamps, also at the Stockmann owned company Orno Oy. She won a number of medals for her lighting designs in the Milan Triennials in the 1950s.
