Lisa Johansson-Papé Table Lamp Model 1322 in Yellow & Brass, Orno 1940s

7180,00

A beautiful and rare table lamp by Lisa Johansson-Papé model 1322 for Orno. The handmade art glass was free blown in Karhula, one of the leading glass manufacturers in Finland and the first producers of the iconic Aalto vases. The yellow glass base is stunning with places of interwoven clear glass. The combination with the brass and wooden shade is also a very natural and very elegant one. The lamp is in its original condition except for the reupholstered shade.

Lisa Johansson-Papé (1907-1989) was a Finnish designer best known for her works in lighting. She paid more attention to the function of the lamp firstly, then the design feature secondly. Lisa designed furniture for Stockmann for a number of years, after which she turned her attention to lamps, also at the Stockmann owned company Orno Oy. She won a number of medals for her lighting designs in the Milan Triennials in the 1950s.
