A Red & White Ceiling Pendant Model K2-47 by Maria Lindeman, Idman 1960s

1290,00

A cheerful and colourful ceiling pendant by Maria Lindeman for Idman. Already designed in the late 1950s and featured in the 1961 Idman catalogue, this lamp combines a frosted glass shade with a hard plastic outer shade that makes it all more playful and suitable for children’s rooms and play spaces. The lamp also suits other spaces with modern interiors.

In 1953 Maria Lindeman took part in a competition of lighting fixtures, announced by the Idman company. This competition resulted in a full-time job as the Idman’s artistic designer.

Lindeman’s lighting designs varied to include both modern and classical forms. During the 1950s and 1960s Lindeman became one of the voices in constructing Finnish modernism, a participating member in the formulation of the Golden Age of Finnish design.

We have another similar lamp to this one, slightly smaller in diameter, also on our 1stdibs pages. The height is of course adjustable.
