Kaj Franck (1911-1989) was the artistic director of the Arabia ceramics company. He was one of the leading figures of Finnish design and an influential figure in design and applied arts between 1940-1980. His leading role and influence on Finnish design is celebrated with one of the most prestigious awards named after him (The Kaj Franck Award).
